Jiri College is the lone college in Jiribam District which is located at Kadamtala about 5 km away from Jiribam town towards the South-Eastern side. The college was established in 1981. It is located in a beautiful campus of its own measuring 10.07 acres. From 1981 to 1992, it was a Intermediate Arts College. At this level, the college offered Manipuri, Political Science, Economics, and History subjects. In 1993, the college was upgraded to Bachelor’s Degree level after obtaining temporary affiliation to Manipur University and got permanent affiliation in the year 2009. It was also recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act 1956 on 25^th January, 2010. Initially, the regular classes of the college were conducted in the evening at the premises of the Jiribam Higher Secondary School after having done the normal classes of the school engaging some of lecturers of the school owing to lack of its own sufficient teachers, land and building.
